The Customer portal is the public portal that everyone sees when they visit your support portal through your web page. You can configure exactly what sections you want to be shown to them, and what they can access through the “Customer Portal” in the Admin tab.

The various options available for you to change are:

Users can Submit a ticket without logging in

If this is checked, a customer can submit a ticket without being a registered user of your portal.

Users can view public solutions without logging in

If this is checked, a customer can view solution articles on your knowledge base without having to be a registered user of your portal.

Auto suggest solutions when the user creates a new ticket.

Checking this option will help the user solve their problem quickly by suggesting existing solution articles when they creates a new ticket. It is also applicable to the search feature inside the feedback widget.

Users can view Forums without logging in

Checking this option will restrict users from viewing the forums if they are not registered users and logged in to the portal.

Allow users to Sign in using Google

This allows users to sign in to the portal with their Google credentials.

Allow users to Sign in using Twitter

This allows users to sign in to the portal with their Twitter credentials.

Allow users to Sign in using Facebook

This allows users to sign in to the portal with their Facebook credentials.

Allow customers to Sign Up from the customer portal

This lets customer sign up for their own accounts on the portal.

Make captcha compulsory while submitting ticket without logging in

If you want to allow non-registered users of your portal to submit tickets, but want to ensure that they’re not bots and spamming your page, you could choose to check this option. They will have to solve a captcha before raising a ticket.

Forums

You can enable or disable forums by turning on this switch. Forums allow your users to interact with each other and your own brand. This makes way for a lot of participation, discussions and public requests by your users.

Moderate Forums

Forum moderation has three settings - you can choose not to moderate anything, or moderate everything, or moderate only suspicious topics and replies.

The first two options are pretty self- explanatory. The third option checks for third party links and other spam activity, and only those posts will be sent to the Admin for approval before they are published.
